About The Role

Assistant Operations Manager shall directly reports to the Operations Manager- Marine Launch. The role shall be primarily responsible for managing, directing and controlling of all coordination activities of the support services team thus ensuring accurate and efficient services in a result focused, professional and effective manner.

This position also involved a strict compliance in ensuring quality management system guidelines set up by the company and to adhere the QMS in relation to financial matters and consistent in all operational activities in support services stream.

What You’ll Do

Marine launch
  • To ensure that all boats are operated as per SMS.
  • All boats class, FTA and other statutory certificates are always valid.
  • To prepare the boats and conduct pre-vetting of boats for Saudi ARAMCO / ADOC / ADNOC / Shell / BP’s inspections.
  • Plan and obtain quotes for docking of the boats as per statutory requirement.
  • Supervision, Monitoring the progress during Dry docking.
  • Conduct navigational audits and cargo audits on vessels to ascertain the strict compliance of Safety Management Systems& SOLAS Regulations.
  • Investigate near miss incidents and regulatory non-conformities and preparation/submission of reports to the Inchcape Senior Management and QHSSE department.
  • Plan, Conduct, review and implement the Risk Assessment at regular intervals.
  • Vessel Management & technical support for the fleet.
  • Periodical Training for Inchcape Crew to ensure compliance of company QHSE policies.
  • Carry out monthly inspection of the boats.
  • Supervise on-board STCW / ISM / SOLAS Drills
  • LSA / FFA / Navigation Equipment Auditing and Certification
  • Vetting of third-party boats.
Ship chandelling
  • Identifying suitable vendors as per client requirement for technical enquiries.
  • Guide and monitor the hold cleaning / tank cleaning of vessels calling under our agency as and when required.

Key skills

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of progressive experience holding a Second mate foreign going CoC with good sailing experience.
  • Must have extensive working knowledge of the shipping agency and marine’s services business
  • A self- driven individual with a zeal to achieve result
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills
  • Bachelor or a higher education within the shipping industry would be advantageous
  • Also a command of multiple languages would be highly desirable
