The International Suspension Bridge in Dharchula has been reopened for three days. And this facilitates the Nepali citizens who had served the Indian Army and other Indian organizations and wanted to cross over to India. This will enable them to collect their pensions from various banks and post offices.
However, the bridge will remain open for five hours for three days beginning from Wednesday.
“The bridge was opened from 9 am to 2 pm on Wednesday. Also, it’s only for Nepali citizens, who had retired from services in India. 238 Nepali citizens entered India for pensions and 151 Indian citizens went to Nepal. The International Bridge will close at 2 pm,” Mohan Goswami, Tehsildar, Dharchula, Uttarakhand said.
Dharchula Deputy Collector Anil Kumar Shukla said all such pensioners will benefit. Every month this facility to withdraw money from banks is there for such members. The bridge was opened on Nepal’s request – for former servicemen in the Indian Army. In Addition, other Nepali retired employees will also benefit from this facility.
