The United Arab Emirates authorities had warned public regarding child safety in car. It says that if a child is locked inside a car knowingly or unknowingly, the owner or driver of the car will be fined upto one million Dirham and ten years in jail OR both.

Abu Dhabi police had started the campaign about child safety. It also highlighted the importance of taking care of children while travelling.

It can go fatal if a child is locked inside the car. Police also said that if found unattended in similar case also bound to attract same punishment.

Wadeema’s law – the UAE version of Child Rights Law is the base of issuing the same with immediate effect. It is to safeguard the physical and mental well being of all children in the UAE.

The Law implementation has two more reasons. The region experiences the hottest period these months and in a locked car, death can happen in mere ten minutes. The other reason mentioning is that during the hot season, the region experienced the most number of such incidents due to climatic peculiarities.

If the outside temperature is forty degrees, the temperature inside a stopped car go upto 60 degrees in just half an hour. Being in such a temperature can turn fatal – especially children – an official added.
