News Link: Nokia 9.3 PureView Further Delayed – By MK (Editor)
Nokia 9.3 PureView has succeeded in being the most anticipated and elusive device this year. The flagship device from HMD Global competes with Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, iPhone 12, and OnePlus 8T. It was reported that HMD Global’s flagship smartphone will launch sometime in December, after multiple delays already.
The launch of Nokia 9.3 PureView, which is expected to pack some top-of-the-line specifications, has been postponed to the first half of 2021. Even with this new information, there is too much ambiguity around the launch date. The first half of next year will mean the Nokia 9.3 PureView could launch anytime between January and June.
The tipster has said that the new development was confirmed by an internal source.
HMD Global is reportedly working with high-quality and advanced hardware for the Nokia 9.3 PureView. The smartphone could come with an OLED display with a high refresh rate, integrating an in-display fingerprint sensor and an under-display camera. The last one, particularly, is a novel technology currently under testing by several mobile phone companies. Nokia could also be devising methods to include this sensor on the phone.
Moreover, the Nokia 9.3 PureView is said to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. But now since the phone is indefinitely delayed, HMD Global could opt for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor. Maybe this could be the reason why the company may have delayed the phone to next year, if not beyond that. There will be upgrades to the camera of the phone, but the company will retain the Penta-lens setup from the Nokia 9 PureView. The Zeiss optics will also be available on the phone.
HMD Global needs to be sure about its strategy for the Nokia 9.3 PureView if it wants to stay afloat in the flagship category. But if it wants to cater to entry-level, budget, and mid-range segments only.
