As long weekend and year-end holidays approaching, three of the main GCC countries had taken the decision to close their international borders. The Closure starts from 22nd December until January 01, 2021. Oman border closure is till 27th December 2020.
The stringent action is taken as a precaution against the spread Covid-19 pandemic. As per the latest report, the pandemic had started its second wave that is more lethal.
No passengers are allowed to get into or go out of the country. The Announcement came Saudi Arabia First followed by Oman and Kuwait.
The closure of border include Air Traffic, Sea Passengers and Road users.
Cargo movement, Truck Transportation, Goods import activities are not affected by this decision.
Earlier today, notification from UAEs Airlines Etihad, Emirates and Air Arabia came stating that all international operations are on hold until further notice. Emirates had stated until 27th December there wont be any passenger take offs or landings. Etihad Airlines clarified that the move is as per directives from Saudi Arabia in order to control spread of Covid.
