Official announcement from the General of Civil Aviation Authority had come related to India – U A E flights. Severe Covid situation prevailing in India affected the passengers wishing to travel. The daily infection rate is the world’s highest these days. U A E residents who have gone for short vacation got affected with the decision overturning plans and programs scheduled.
The decision of suspension of flights came last night saying that it would take effect from 00.00 hours of 25th April 2021. The initial suspension period is for 10 days – but will review and take a decision later – says Civil Aviation Authority.
The news from the Civil Aviation Authority had come after collective decision with the national Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority of the U A E.
The circular says that the flights towards India will continue. Also, there are some exempted category who can still come to the United Arab Emirates. They are – Diplomatic Passport holders, U A E Citizens and the U A E Golden Visa Holders.
Flight bookings to the U A E is became unavailable on all airlines websites as soon as the news released. Travel agents flooded with enquiries by panic travellers when the news of less than 2 days to reach back.
Kerala To The UAE:
Some from Kerala destinations of Kozhikode and Kochi found themselves lucky. One of the Indian air lines – Spicejet offered chartered flight. These flights will fly to Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah on 24th as a last reprieve to the urgent flyers.
Price of Chartered flight ticket shot up to AED 1875 and AED 2000 per ticket as per information from passengers. The Kerala flight was organized by agents who have already did the evacuation flight operations. It was during Covid emergency situation last year from the U A E.
