For the second year in a row, Kerala has received the Central Government’s Startup Award for Outstanding Performance in a Startup. Entrepreneurship promotion, a conducive environment and visionary leadership approaches etc. were the factors for the award.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Som Prakash and DPIIT Secretary Dr Guruprasad Mahapatra together announced the rankings online. Support for enterprises, entrepreneurial cells in all districts and financial support for startups have been highlighted. Apart from Kerala, Karnataka also got the award in this category – said Dr. Saji Gopinath, CEO, Kerala Startup Mission.
