US President Donald Trump made stringent restriction rules in issuance of H1-B grade visas of the United States.
These are the visas the US issues to skilled and highly skilled labor force from other countries. Most of the Indians, mainly IT professionals who who work in the US comes under this category.
Departments of Labor and Homeland Security introduced two main interim changes on Tuesday.
As per the new rule, the required wage level for entry-level workers would rise to the 45th percentile of their profession’s distribution, from the existing requirement of the 17th percentile. The requirement for the highest-skilled workers would rise to the 95th percentile, from the existing 67th percentile.
Because of these changes, the existing H1-B visa holders who are under this percentile also may find it difficult to renew their visas if the employer is not willing to upgrade their salary status.
Most of the IT companies depend on this kind of visa for hiring their highly skilled IT professionals. Indians carry major share of IT profession in the US.
