News Link: Whatsapp Postpones Privacy Changes For A Period Of Three Months – By ND Technology Desk
WhatsApp made it clear through an announcement that the earlier news of February 8th will not happen. They have issued another statement that shows a postponement of privacy and security related updating. Neither Privacy nor data sharing changes will happen without further notice. No one will lose their account. Nor it will suspend on February 8 – Company affirmed. We are also going to do a lot more to clear up the misinformation around how privacy and security work on WhatsApp – Company stated on its official page.
We’ve heard from a lot of people how much confusion surrounding our latest update. There has been a lot of misinformation that causes anxiety and we want to help everyone understand our goals and facts.
WhatsApp is built on a simple concept: what you share with your friends and family stays within you. This means that we will always protect your personal conversations with end-to-end encryption, so that WhatsApp or Facebook does not see these private messages. That’s why we don’t keep logs of who’s texting or calling everyone. Nor can we see your shared location and share your Facebook contacts.
With these updates, nothing is changing. Instead, the update includes new options that people will need to write to the business on WhatsApp, and provide further clarification about how we collect and use data. Not everyone use WhatsApp today for business, our thought is that many more people will choose to do business through it in the future and it is important that people know about these services. This update does not enhance our ability to share information with Facebook.
Future Implementation Date:
We are now setting back the date when people will be asked to review and accept the terms. Nobody will lose their account on February 8 Or get it suspended. We will do more work to get the misinformation cleared about privacy and security work on WhatsApp. We will come to people now on to review the policy at their own pace and then may think on implementing it on coming May 15.
Whats App has helped bring the end of human encryption around the world. We stay committed to protecting these security technologies now and in the future. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us and to many who have helped to spread the truth and dispel rumors. We will keep on doing the business with the same pattern of secrecy keeping and private communication facility as we used to do.
