Instant messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly set to update its terms of service in 2021. According to WABeta Info, the Twitter account that tracks upcoming changes and features in WhatsApp builds. The new terms of service will likely come into effect from February 8.
WABeta Info has shared screenshots of the ‘Terms and Privacy Policy Updates’. These terms reportedly relate to how the world’s most popular messaging app processes user data and will primarily focus on two things. One, how Whats App processes your data. Two, how businesses can use Facebook hosted services to store and manage their Whats App chats.
The report claims that by tapping ‘Agree’, users will accept the updated Terms of Service and can continue to use the app. If they don’t agree to the changes, they can delete their Whats App account within Whats App Settings.
Whats App usually does not comment on assumed changes. However, the company reportedly confirmed to the UK based website ‘The Independent’ that all users “must agree” to the new terms by February 8, 2021.
The changes related to the way businesses will be able to operate on the platform and interact with users.”

No matter they are around the corner or across the world. We’re excited about what lies ahead and we’ll gradually roll out these services in the months to come.” said the company’s blog post on Whats App Business account.
