Those who are using 43 models of different smartphones will soon lose WhatsApp from their phones due to the latest technology upgradation.
The popular messaging app will stop working on 1st November on smartphones and gadgets with operating systems prior to Android OS 4.1, Apple’s iOS 10, and KaiOS 2.5.1. The confirmation is from the excerpts from a blog and FAQ session of WhatsApp and Facebook.
WhatsApp will stop supporting these phones and operating systems and will be incompatible with the new version of the app.
Those who carry these types of phones will be required to upgrade their gadget to a newer one that is compatible with WhatsApp. The next option is switching to another type of messaging system or app.
But, for relief, the company is giving a feature of migration – that is: iOS operated phones can upload or transfer data to Android systems. Earlier this was not possible. WhatsApp says this facility will be first introduced in Android 10 or higher and gradually to more Android devices.
WhatsApp made a tweet on 3rd September about the availability of this upgrading and coming to all devices soon. For this, the new device should be a fresh one or reset to factory default settings for migration.
