Bali will be stayed shut for foreign tourists for most of the year to prevent any COVID outbreak. Now, as the world is reopening again, there was a buzz that the island destination will open to tourists from all over the world on December 1. The news was doing rounds on popular media and has now been quashed by Bali Deputy Governor, much to the dismay of travelers.

The Governer commented on the same, clearly stating that, “There are no plans to open (foreign tourists) on December 1. It looks like it will be early next year (it will only open for foreign tourists).” It has to be noted that this is not the first time that such speculations have happened, with similar rumours floating around previously as well.

Currently, Bali is open only to domestic tourists. Trying to revive its tourism industry with many promotional offers to boost domestic travel. It reopened to domestic tourism in July after staying in a self-imposed lockdown early in the year. Now, the government has exempted 13 airports from airport tax to further boost travelling for the locals. Staycations are also being promoted to lure more visitors.

Reportedly, the nearing of holiday season has warmed up domestic travel. And might just be the silver lining to end the year on a better note.
